Using Lavender Oil in Meditation

28 Apr

There are two main ways to incorporate Selle Valley essential oils in your meditation practice.

The first is by diffusing the oil into the air through an essential oil diffuser, then inhaling the steam that is produced. Aromatherapy inhalation can help promote relaxation, focus the senses, and create an ambient space so you can settle into your meditation practice.

Alternatively, you can directly apply the essential oils to your skin. Add Selle Valley lavender essential oil to sore or tense areas (thus preventing distraction during your meditation). You can also apply the oil to your palms for self-directed inhalation, or you can apply it to your pulse points to quickly reach the targeted areas.

Choose the method that seems best to you based on what you’d like to achieve. When I use lavender in my meditation practice, I use it for its anti-anxiety, antidepressant, and relaxant properties. Lavender is an ideal essential oil for meditation because its calming properties can put your mind in the right frame to achieve clarity from meditation. Lavender can also help stabilize and calm you, so if you are having a restless meditation session, it may assist you to re-balance yourself and come back to focus.
